No Art Speak is foremost a photography magazine with a strong focus on Sydney-specific culture and sense of place. As such, we are especially interested in unpublished works which speak to the medium of photography, both explicitly and more subtly. We also prefer works that are grounded in Sydney and explore Sydney identities, stories and cultures, though works that carry a broader Australian sensibility are also welcomed.
Please read the below submission requirements and more of what we’re looking for to ensure we stay rooted in Sydney and the photography scene.
Submissions from both emerging and established artists and writers from all backgrounds are welcome. Editorial feedback will be given on all submissions.

Photographic Submission Requirements
- Artist Bio
300 Word Max - 300 word max description of submission
Include name of submission in this document - File of photo sequence (numbered)
(max 10 images)
No overly large files (like a 2GB or something crazy), although please provide full-size images to simplify the process on our end.
This example is from one of our contributors, Dione, who formatted the email really nicely with an easy-to-access shared Google Doc with bio and collection description (set to comment for our text editor Aimee to check and leave notes) as well as a separate Google Drive link with the images.

In the shared Google Doc, he has formatted a neat and short bio, complete with easy links to his social media account.

The body is short, with a desired featured image, and the text is no longer than a single A4 page. Shorter is usually better, however.

Switching to the Images, each is a nice, large size and numbered in the desired sequence. This removes the back and forth and guesswork on our end of interpreting your vision.
Thank you for checking out this short guide, and I hope that through this, you can help us help you and share your work with the Sydney film photography community!
If you have any more questions, of course, please feel free to reach out to Ethan, who manages the website at hellomagnistudio@gmail.com

Written Submission Requirements
We accept essays, creative nonfiction, fiction (including microfiction), poetry, and experimental/mixed-media forms. For prose, no more than 1,500 words in length, and poetry no longer than one A4 page (though shorter works are preferred). If you have an idea for a nonfiction piece you can submit a short 150-200 word pitch. We accept multiple submissions at one time. Please submit a short bio statement along with your work.
